new album on Magnatune!

Hello, all ...

I am very pleased to announce that the new Falling You album is available on Magnatune at the following URL: http://www.magnatune.com/artists/albums/fallingyou-faith/hifi_play

... the album is called "faith" and it is not a religious record (though it's not necessarily anti-religion, either). This album features Suzanne Perry (Love Spirals Downwards), Amanda Kramer (The Golden Palominos, World Party, Siouxsie, Psychedelic Furs), Shikhee (Android Lust), Dru Allen (This Ascension), Aimee Page (Vishnu's Secret), and of course, Jennifer McPeak (the original Falling You vocalist). "faith" examines what we humans do when life knocks us of our perch and our beliefs are tested -- will whatever we put our faith in save us from the fall, or will it shatter like glass as we plunge through it? What do we do when everything falls apart all around us?

You can stream it free of charge at the above URL, and you can actually also purchase it if you're so inclined :-) Actual CDs will be available in a few weeks, and it should appear on iTunes around then as well.

Regards,

John, _soooo_ happy :-)

Hello, all ...

I recently was notified that the latest Falling You album, "Human", was named "Best Vocal Album of 2006" by the broadcasters who report their playlists to NAR. NAR is NewAgeReporter, an organization that tracks airplay of ambient / electronic / new-age / neo-classical / world musics. Hundreds of DJs report their playlists to NAR, and these same people vote every year for the NAR awards. We're flattered to be nominated, and even more so to win once again. One of the coolest things is that the new Loreena McKennitt album was also up for the same award, but we got it. How cool is that? :-)

Regards,
"Human" released on Magnatune

... ok, it's a bit late, but the new Falling You album, "Human", is available on Magnatune as I write this. "Human" once again features the vocals of Aimee Page (Vishnu's Secret), Dru Allen (This Ascension), Erica Mulkey (Unwoman) and Jennifer McPeak (the original Falling You vocal magician), plus Suzanne Perry (Love Spirals Downwards) on one song (more to come, though <smile>).

Magnatune is an online music label that allows the buyer to set the price for the music e.g. as little as $5 for the complete audio files in WAV, AIFF, iTunes, MP3, and Ogg formats. Magnatune also encourages that you give the music you purchase from them to 3 of your friends ... how cool is that?

I also have "Human" CDs available, but the artwork is getting reprinted (they came out in black-and-white, which is not at all what I wanted). As soon as the new artwork arrives, i'll get "Human" on CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon, etc.

I hope everyone is well!

Hello, all ...

I thought i'd give everyone an update on the new Falling You album, "Human". It's currently being mastered by Robert Rich, and the artwork is being finalized now. We're aiming for an August 1st release date on Magnatune as well as Fossil Dungeon, hopefully iTunes will have it online by then (or soon after) as well.

"Human" continues where "Touch" left off, exploring moody ambient-inspired ethereal electronica. The vocalists / magicians on the album include Dru Allen (This Ascension), Aimee Page (Vishnu's Secret), Jennifer McPeak (original Falling You magician), Erica Mulkey (Unwoman) and Suzanne Perry (Love Spirals Downwards). As always, I am incredibly thankful and appreciative of all of them -- the beauty and grace that they add to Falling You is beyond words.

Hello, all ...

For anyone in the SF bay area, a show is happening this weekend and next which I was privileged to compose (and perform) a lot of music for -- from dark ambient to industrial to electronica to more mellow electronic / new-age stuff. It's in Santa Cruz, and it's an aerial (as in dancers flying through the air on ropes, spinning, etc.) dance show called "Place Of No Escape", the theme being gang conflict and non-violent ways of dealing with it using art / expression. I'd love to see some fellow electronic musicians there!

The info:

Artistic Director, Miranda Janeschild
Hello, all ...

The annual Scorpio-themed installment of the nationally syndicated radio program "Hearts of Space" features a Falling You track from "Touch", "reading the leaves (by moonlight)" as well as a lot of other incredible dark-ambient material (Stearns / Sunsinger's "Sorcerer", Dwight Ashley, etc.) Pretty nifty, me thinks :-)

... care to review Touch on iTunes?

Hello, all ...

The Apple iTunes 6 (Mac and PC) program allows music listeners to review albums on the iTunes Music Store. Would anyone here be interested in reviewing Touch on there? If so, launch iTunes 6, search the music store for "falling you touch" and choose us ... then tell the world how freakin' cool we are :-)

Any and all reviews welcome ... we would appreciate it greatly!

Regards,

Hello, all ...

The nationally syndicated ambient / electronic radio program, "Music from the Hearts of Space", is featuring Falling You's "the light between us" (with Victoria Lloyd from Claire Voyant) on this weekend's program, entitled "Summertronica 2." So, find a local NPR station that airs MftHoS, and listen!

If you miss it, you can stream it from the HOS website:

http://timelessmedia.net/hos/index.html

Regards,

John, pretty darn excited, as he's been a big HOS fan for many years

Hello, all ...

I've sent over 100 promos of the Touch CD to public radio stations all over the USA, and some outside of it. In order to get the word out, i'm trying to get as many stations to play it, so that we'll chart as high as we possibly can, making more people aware of us. In these endeavors, if some people would request it on their local newage / ambient / electronica radio shows, it would go a long way toward this goal.

Would you all consider it? If you ask, i'll gladly tell you the call letters and contact info of the station in your area (if you tell me where your area is <smile>).

There's a nasty rumor that the wonderfully talented
John Zorko and Dru will be playing dates in Japan
in early May............

fess up, John, is this true?

How fucking exc iting......!!!! Also, the rumor is that Dru is moving up north from Santa Barbara...........

Say it is soooooo. I"m so excited......it means there will be more frequent Falling You shows in this area. I certainly hope so, especially after seeing John, Dru and Amy Paige play at the Dark Ambient Festival with ACI.

Hello, all ...

Magnatune released our Touch CD a year and a half ago, and they've done well for us. However, many people like the experience of holding an actual CD release (Magnatune sells CDs, but most of our sales there have been for the downloadable version of the album). Fossil Dungeon released Touch recently, complete with very beautiful artwork.

http://www.fossildungeon.com/fossildungeon/releases_026.htm

So, both Magnatune and Fossil Dungeon are offering our work. Pretty cool :-)
with shouts of fire and hearts in bloom."

-- Lycia, "Estrella"

... one of the most incredibly beautiful pieces of music ever to grace a piece of reflective plastic ...

... when I listen to David Sylvian (one of my musical heroes). A particular song will come on (it changes, right now it's "Upon This Earth" from Gone To Earth) and my heart just instantly sinks ... but I don't want it to stop. The duality of this music -- that it can make me feel so bad, yet so good, often at once, is probably one of the big reasons I adore it so.

Regards,

A lot of things are happening in the Falling You realm lately:

1. Fossil Dungeon release of Touch (Feb / Mar 2005)
2. Upcoming suspense film "Cracked" featuring Falling You music
3. Japan mini-tour in late April (hey, it's 2 shows, so I can call it that, no?)

The best to all!

Regards,
